Baby Loves Science: A Selected Bibliography

September 1st, 2018
With tongue firmly in cheek, the Baby Loves Science series introduces highly intellectual science concepts to the littlest learners. Baby Loves Coding! is a clever board book that showcases the use of logic, sequence, and patterns to solve problems. Can Baby think like a coder to fix her train? Beautiful, visually stimulating illustrations complement age-appropriate language to encourage baby’s sense of wonder. Parents and caregivers may learn a thing or two, as well!

Baby Loves Gravity! is a clever board book that explores the ups and downs of gravity. When baby drops food from a high chair, why does it fall? Beautiful, visually stimulating illustrations complement age-appropriate language to encourage baby’s sense of wonder. Parents and caregivers may learn a thing or two, as well!

The Baby Loves Science board book series is illustrated by Irene Chan. Ruth Spiro will read Baby Loves Coding! and Baby Loves Gravity! on Saturday, September 8 at 10:30am at 57th Street Books.

Bathtime Mathtime, by Danica McKellar - Like the Baby Loves Science books, this board book introduces numbers and counting in a fun, playful way.

Hello, World! Weather, by Jill McDonald - This colorful book introduces the different seasons, along with the appropriate clothing and activities. As a bonus, talking about weather naturally includes the senses – warm, cold, bright, wet – sneaking in some additional science-related vocabulary!

Lines, by Sarvinder Naberhaus - The illustrations in this book range from spare to complex, and invite the discovery of patterns and how parts come together to make a whole.

Sunrise, Moonrise, by Betsy Thompson - The design and colors are beautiful, and its small size is perfect for tiny hands. The rhyming text follows a variety of critters from, you guessed it, sunrise to moonrise.

Space Walk, by Salina Yoon - This rhyming story takes readers on a journey into the solar system, with plenty to discover in a lift-the-flap format.
