OPEN STACKS | At Home in the Wild: Lee Dugatkin, Caryl Yasko, John Hausdoerffer and Gavin van Horn

July 23rd, 2017

This week, Open Stacks explores the shifting boundaries between wildness and domesticity. Biologist Lee Dugatkin tells the tale of a decades-long fox domestication experiment in Siberia that has led to remarkable insights on evolution and domestication. Environmentalists John Hausdoerffer & Gavin Van Horn discuss the future of wildness and the problematic nature of the word "wilderness." Public Artist Caryl Yasko discusses her famous Hyde Park mural, "Under City Stone."

This episode was produced by Kit Brennen and Imani Jackson.

"Under City Stone" was restored by Yasko herself, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, in 2015. You can read about the restoration here.
