About the Book:
“Extraordinarily raw . . . Cave has the soft-spoken, knowing voice of a wise man whose youthful excesses inevitably led him to a quiet life of meditation and art.” —Lauretta Charlton, The New York Times Book Review
Faith, Hope and Carnage is a captivating look into the mind of one of this generation’s most spellbinding artists. As bold and enigmatic as its subject, this book collects over forty hours of intimate conversations between Cave and O’Hagan on topics ranging from music and God to grief and creativity. Strikingly candid and exceptionally tender, Cave and O’Hagan’s conversations are clearly the product of a thoughtful relationship.
About the author:
Perhaps best known as the lead singer and songwriter of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Nick Cave’s artistic output is prolific and ever evolving. Over a creative career that spans more than forty years, Cave has worked across a diverse number of disciplines: as a solo and collaborative musician, a score composer, a writer of books, film scripts, and his weekly mailer, The Red Hand Files, and more recently as a ceramic artist.
