Moderator John Schu: John Schu is a lecturer at Rutgers University and the Ambassador of School Libraries for Scholastic Book Fairs. He is also the host of the Facebook show Book Joy Live and the author of the popular blog Watch. Read. Connect. He works diligently to put the right book in every child’s hand.
Pam Allyn: Pam Allyn is the award-winning author of many books for educators and families, including Every Child a Super Reader, co-authored with Dr. Ernest Morrell. She is the founder of LitWorld, a global initiative serving children as readers and learners in 26 countries.
Andrea Davis Pinkney: Andrea is a Vice President and Executive Editor at Scholastic, working with authors including Malcolm Mitchell, Kacen Callender and Ruby Bridges. She is also the New York Times bestselling and award-winning author of books for children and young adults, and was named one of the “25 Most Influential People in Our Children’s Lives” by Children’s Health Magazine.
Phil Falco: Phil Falco is the Creative Director of Graphix, the graphic novel imprint at Scholastic. He has worked on books including Dav Pilkey’s Dog Man series, the Wings of Fire series, Raina Telgemeier’s Smile, The Babysitters Club graphic novels and the new Graphix Chapters imprint. (Graphix)
Malcolm Mitchell: Malcolm Mitchell is a Super Bowl Champion and an author of books for children, including My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World. In 2016, he founded the Share the Magic Foundation, a nonprofit organization aimed at promoting the benefits and joy of book reading, especially among striving and below-level readers. Malcolm considers a love of reading to be one of his greatest achievements.
Ernest Morrell: Ernest Morrell is the Director for the Center for Literacy Education at the University of Notre Dame and a director of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). He is an award-winning author of ten books, including Every Child a Reader, co-authored by Pam Allyn.
Lauren Tarshis: Lauren Tarshis is the author of the New York Times bestselling I Survived series, which tells stories of young people and their resilience and strength in the midst of unimaginable disasters and times of turmoil. She is also the SVP, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Scholastic Classroom Magazines, and the editor of Storyworks, a language arts magazine for grades 4-6.
